Irving Berlin's Wonderful "White Christmas...."

Quite unusual (Paramount / Merchandising Manual / and Press Book" (as so screamed across top of front wrapper) sent to movie theatres, major newspapers, publicists and others by this studio, anticipating what Paramount Pictures hoped would be their 1954 blockbuster -- and was, the highest-grossing film of 1954, the highest-grossing musical up to that time. First page ("Publicty") is a collage of raving print articles, followed by a "Pre-Opening Material" page (music promotion, posters of varying sizes, thetre trailers, radio spots), then "Promotions" (various merchandise, including run-of-paper teasers and a "Lobby Xmas Tree") and images of posters and their sizes, etc. A scarce survivor. Accompanying this is a very heavy stock folio (14" X 17") poster that surprisingly is NOT among the various sizes and formats pictured in the booklet. Full color and bearing the title "Irving Berlin's White Christmas," it depicts the smiling faces of Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye at upper right, a singing full-size Rosemary Clooney at left center and dancing full-size Vera-Ellen at lower right. Stars' names and other credits appear near the bottom, where miniscule copyright data 1954 Paramouont Pictures Corporation also appears. Very good. Lightly age toned, with single light vertical fold (as issued). A delightful pair of unusual items seldom seen.
