First edition, a superbly tight and handsome modern (likely early 20th century) rebind of the original pamphlet printing, with grey front and rear wrappers bound in. Printed entirely in French, the title translates "Interview between Francis I and Henry VIII, at Boulogne-sur-Mer, in 1532. France's Intervention in the Divorce Case" and presents, in addition to Hamy's text, a transcript of 124 documents mostly held by the Bibliotheque Nationale and the French archives that detail in extraordinary depth the expenses incurred by the French during the convoluted dealings between Francis I and Henry VIII. The outstanding condition foldout frontispiece is printed on onion-skin type paper and opens to an impressive 34" X 12½"; titled "La Ville de Boulogne," it is a reproduction of an artist's bird's-eye view of this seaside city and surrounding countryside. Laid in is a large clipping of an English-language review of this title, from the August 20, 1898, issue of "The Athenaeum." Alfred Hamy (1838-1906) was a Jesuit priest who compiled and edited numerous historical texts.
