What Man Has Built.

New York: Time Inc., 1967. Paperback. Small 4to. Stiff brown wrappers. 11pp. Illustrations, large partly-color foldout chart. Near fine. Touch of uneven sunning to front wrapper (only), else tight and near pristine. Item #50899

Between 1965 and 1968 Time-Life published the critically acclaimed, hardbound 21-volume set "The Great Ages of Man" -- and along with it came this large sotfbound booklet which provides the introduction to the series, by the astonishing French-American intellectual, historian, polymath and prolific author Barzun (1907-2012). His text is followed by a large foldout flow chart titled "Meeting of Cultures" that follows various cultures from ca. 3500 BCE to mid-20th CE plus a guide for its use. Fascinating.
