A tight and quite attractive first edition of this rather homespun production, dubbed "Farewell to the Old" on jacket front panel -- a multi-generational historical fiction that begins with the Vikings and ends with ranching in the American West. Lengthy author inscription and signature on title page in blue ballpoint: "To Leonard H.
