Item #47894 Pair of Signatures / Unsigned Photograph. Max McGEE, Fred "Fuzzy" THURSTON.

Pair of Signatures / Unsigned Photograph.

The football player who scored the first touchdown in the very first Super Bowl (1967) was Green Bay Packers punter and wide receiver McGee, who played there from 1954 to 1967; his teammate, offensive guard Thurston, played for the Baltimore Colts (1958) and Green Bay Packers (1959-67). Item #47894

Superb pair of matching, heavy stock 5" X 3" cards, each boldly signed: McGee in black fineline, who dates it 6 February 1974 at upper right; and Thurston in full in blue ballpoint, who dates it 25 October 1974 at upper right. Each near fine and each with original transmittal envelope. Accompanied by an outstanding 9½" X 7¼" glossy black-and-white photograph. This high-quality original print shows an event likely shortly after the 1967 or '68 Packer Super Bowl wins: Thurston, Paul Hornung and McGee stand in suits and ties at center stage in front of a music stand, singing into a microphone, while behind them are rows of spectators and an enormous "Salute to Vince Lombardi" sign. Near fine.

Price: $150.00
