A tight and quite nice early (not first) printing of this rushed-to-print biography published a few months after Lincoln's assassination. First edition bears 1865 on title page and copyright page, whereas this presumable second printing on copyright page only. Front pastedown bears handsome "Lincolniana" bookplate of noted Wisconsin Lincoln collector Dr. Arthur C. Hansen (1902-91) and inner flyleaf bears bears nonauthorial 1948 gift inscription to Hansen from Wisconsin attorney and Milwaukee Bar Association president (1959-60) Roland K. Wilde.
