Handsome, super tight first edition of Robbins' first novel, described on front jacket panel as "A Novel of Passion and Struggle." This lovely copy also bears fine autograph addition: In 1958 a film version was released, a crime drama starring Steve McQueen and John Drew Barrymore, and this copy has a fine heavy stock 5" X 3" card signed by a cast member tipped to front flyleaf: SALEM LUDWIG (1915-2007), who plays Moishe Moscowitz, signs big and bold in blue ballpoint, dating it 2 October 1989 at upper right. Laid in is Ludwig's original transmittal envelope. Most unusual copy!
