A tight and quite nice first edition of these three political essays -- "A Survey of a Troubled World," proclaims the jacket front panel, "and Heartening Testimony on Democracy's Power to Survive!" -- first delivered at Harvard University as a lecture in March 1954. This was one of the Stevenson family copies and comes from the collection of Adlai E. Stevenson III (1930-2021), U.S. Senator from Illinois (1969-81).
