This U.S. Air Force officer with the 385th Fighter Squadron earned the title "ace in a day" on December 27, 1944 when during the Battle of the Bulge he shot down five enemy airplanes over Germany; he is credited with 9.5 aerial victories in World War Two. Item #46908
