Item #46393 Pair of Signatures / Unsigned Photograph. Helen HAYES, Mildred NATWICK.

Pair of Signatures / Unsigned Photograph.

Hayes, nicknamed "First Lady of American Theatre," was the Tony, Oscar, Grammy and Emmy-award winning actress who graced the stage, film and television for an astonishing eight decades -- from a Shakespearian stage appearance in 1905 to a film narration in 1987; Natwick was a similar versatile character actress on stage, television and films (among them "The Quiet Man" and "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon"), although her career lasted a mere six decades. Item #46393

Pair of choice signatures on matching heavy stock 5" X 3" card, n.p., n.d. Fine. Hayes signs large and bold in blue ballpoint, dating it 12 December 1968 at upper right; Natwick signs boldly in black fineline, dating it 5 December 1969 at upper right. Accompanying this superb pair is a fine 8" X 10" glossy photograph, a still scene from the short-lived NBC comedy/mystery series "The Snoop Sisters" (1973-74) -- for which both Hayes and Natwick were nominated for Emmy Awards. The Snoop Sisters appear to be examining a crime scene: Hayes stands at right next to a fireplace and a tape-outlined body looking down at her sister, who crouches at lower left. Original signature transmittal envelopes are both present.
