Superb and tight 60th volume in the "New Series," being the 17th volume of this annual anthology of prose and poems on a wide variety of topics, entirely in German. Title translation: "Daughter Album: Conversations in the Domestic Circle for the Formation of the Heart and Mind of the Adolescent Female Youth." Gumpert (1810-97) was an influential German children's writer and this her best-known work, the first volume of which was published in 1855. A quite handsome copy, with miniscule 1915 ownership signature on front flyleaf dating it to the period of the foreword (dated 1914).
