Tight, decent first editions of this pair of slim, oversize photographic studies, undated but circa 1900. A delightful study of turn-of-the-century Berlin, chock full of huge, detailed images, one colorized -- its sights, buildings, public spaces, etc. The front board pictorial stamping depicting a busy city scene with river and pedestrian-laden bridge in foreground is quite striking. Second title front board likewise striking, but in a very different way, showing a statue-topped column, crests, decorative floral and foliage elements, etc. Respectable pair of these uncommon volumes usually found in poor condition.
