(WORLD WAR ONE -- POSTER).

Washington, DC: Government Printing Office, n.y. Poster. Folio (17" X 24"). Near fine. Slightest bit of faint wear. Item #35415

An exceptionally bright and handsome example of this "War Savings Stamps" all-text poster, printed in black letters within a blue borders on white stock. A second, smaller blue margin near the bottom, bearing the small oval "Torch of Liberty" logo at upper left corner, notes: "W.S.S. / War Savings Stamps / Issued by the / United States / Government." The War Savings Stamps program was a United States Treasury Department patriotic endeavor to raise funds during World War One and Two by selling interest-earning ten and twenty-five cent stamps primarily to school children. A superb copy, bearing none of the folds and edge tears usually found on these -- a rare survivor in near pristine condition.

Price: $75.00
