This American composer was an authority on Native American music, and authored the 1909 "American Primitive Music: With Especial Attention to the Songs of the Ojibways"; he composed the Native American cantata "Hiawatha" and other songs with Indian themes. Bold "Very truly yours" and full signature in brown ink, 4½" X 1¼", n.p., n.y. Very good. Faint age toning; mounting traces on verso. Rather uncommon. Item #31668
