The one-time silent film child star found fame again in a far different media -- television -- when he played Officer Frank Smith on Jack Webb's "Dragnet" (1952-59). IPS, 8" X 10", n.p., n.y. [ca. 1960]. Very good. Light scotch tape stain at each corner; mild wrinkle at left center. Glossy publicity portrait for the 1958 film "Man in the Shadow," a half-length informal shot depicting Alexander as a deputy sheriff, sleeves rolled up and hands on hips. He inscribes and signs in blue ballpoint at lower right (a darkish area, making for fair to poor contrast only): "Best Wishes! / Ben Alexander." A scarce autograph despite contrast that leaves much to be desired -- and priced accordingly. Item #22831
