Missouri's long-time senator (1952-77) was always considered presidential timbre; the first U.S. Air Force secretary (1947-50), he was naturally also considered a champion of the military -- and of large budget appropriations for the military. Bold signature in black fineline, heavy stock 5" X 3" card, n.p., 1969 July 11. Near fine. Nice example from one often found in Autopen. Accompanied by a choice 8½" X 6½" original 1947 news agency glossy photograph -- itself scarce -- showing Symington being sworn in as Secretary of the Air Force by Justice Fred Vinson. Item #22622
