Overall an attractive, sound copy despite wear. Inscribed in pencil on an inner flyleaf "F.L. Bishop / From D.H. Preston" -- Deming Haven Preston appears on the slate of 1896 officers under "Gentlemen of the Council," and there is also an illustration of him within the text and a list of his colonial ancestors. A lovely association copy.
