Tight and nice first edition, with all proper points, of Faulkner's last novel. Filmed in 1969 starring Steve McQueen, Sharon Farrell and Will Geer, this copy is accompanied by several unusual film mementos: Three fine 8" X 10" glossy black-and-white still scenes (from the Viacom Features re-release) and an actual 5-frame color film clip (7¼" X 1½") presumably distributed for movie theatre promotional purposes. In addition, the copy bears a fine autograph addition: Tipped to front flyleaf is a heavy stock 4½" X 3½" card signed huge and bold by JOHN WILLIAMS (b. 1932), the then-obscure 30-year-old composer who created the soundtrack for this film -- one of his earlier film score efforts.
