Slightly smaller, mass-produced reprint edition edition of the Limited Editions Club's lovely edition. This sci-fi thriller first published in French in 1864 has been adapted into many film, television and radio versions, the best known being a 1959 film -- and this copy bears fine autograph additions from two of its stars. Inner flyleaf boasts a glossy black-and-white 1980ish half-length portrait of PAT BOONE (born 1934), who plays Alec McEwan, boldly signed and inscribed by him in black fineline along the top: "Happy Birthday, / Terry / much love, / Pat Boone." Facing half-title page bears a 5" X 6" black-and-white head-and-shoulders sultry glamour pose (a book illustration) of co-star ARLENE DAHL (1925-2021), who plays Carla Göteborg, boldly inscribed and signed by her in blue ballpoint at lower right: "To Terry / with best / wishes, / Arlene / Dahl." Laid in is the relevant "Sandglass" issue.
