Superb, bright, tight copy of one of this American-British author's finest major novels, first published in 1881. Rear colophon notes limitation of 1500 numbered copies (this #241) boldly signed by illustrator Browning -- but that's not all, as this special copy bears autograph additions from two stars of the 1996 film version. At top of front flyleaf is a 4¼" X 2 2/3" orange decorative-edged bookplate boldly signed in black fineline by JOHN GIELGUD (1904-2000), who plays Mr. Touchett; and below this is a heavy stock 5" X 3" card signed huge and bold in red fineline by SHELLEY WINTERS (1920-2006), who plays his wife, Mrs. Touchett. Winters' original transmittal envelope and "Monthly Letter" laid in. NEWMAN 391.
