Superb, bright copy (Volume XIX, Number 7) of the famed weekly begun in 1925. Front wrapper art by Peter Arno shows a jam-packed nightclub with a waiter carrying a tiny table up to the front with young brunette and handsome young soldier in tow while an elderly officer in same uniform seated with white-haired woman glares up angrily. Contributors include Alfred Hayes ("The Doctor's Here Now"), A.J. Liebling ("A Reporter at Large") and Grace Flandrau ("All the Modern Conveniences"). Cartoons featured include examples by Whitney Darrow, James Thurber, Chon Day, Gluyas Williams (spanning two pages), George Price, Helen Hokinson and William Steig. An especially vibrant cover!
