Ricart's powerful and dramatic woodblock illustrations distinguish this memorable deckle-edged set. Unlike most LECs, this pair feature a colophon leaf at rear of both volumes, each noting the limitation of 1500 numbered copies (this #1132) signed by Ricart. Oliva de Vilanova printed this sumptuous duo on Guarro paper. Laid in is a copy of the September 1933 issue of "The Monthly Letter of The Limited Editions Club" discussing their edition of "Don Quixote" and complaining: "The wood-blocks are not terribly good. The volumes are too thick." We beg to differ!
