Spectacular first edition of this superb portfolio. Chamberlain (1896-1975), who boldly signs the original drypoint etching in pencil, was a noted etcher, photographer and author who celebrated the countryside of France, Spain and England in many books. Front pastedown bears nonauthorial Christmas 1965 gift inscription from J. Eric Anderson (1922-2013), noted architect who served as president of the Northern Illinois chapter of the American Institute of Architects, to "John -- Hope these plates can serve as an inspiration to you as a creative man" -- as indeed they do. Sharpy copy of a lovely and scarce book.
