This British actor and comedian appeared in such Hollywood films as the musical "Darling Lilli" with Rock Hudson and Julie Andrews and the war film "Too Late the Hero" with Michael Caine and Henry Fonda (both 1970), but is best known for British comedies such as "Carry On Cruising" (1962) and other British films and comedy television series of the '60s; he also provided the voices for Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr in the animated "Beatles" t.v. series.
