No. 3 in Series II of "Emory University Publications Sources & Reprints" series, which sought to "Reproduc[e] rare manuscript and printed materials in the Emory University Library, edited by members of the University faculty. Limited editions." Turner (1826-68) was a Georgia plantation owner, writer, editor and newspaper publisher -- and unabashed slavery supporter, as this poem attests. The third title in their Series I (1943) included Turner's autobiography.
