Atlanta: Albert Love Enterprises, Inc., n.y. Hardcover. 4to. Dark green blind-embossed cloth with green lettering. (Ca. 100pp). Extensive illustrations (some color), color pictorial endpapers. Very good. Item #46364
Tight and nice first edition of this United States Army base yearbook, undated but circa early 1960s. Imprinted at lower right of front board is the attachment ("COMPANY C / 3d Bn. 1st Regt.") of the particular soldier who owned this. Fort Gordon was named after Confederate general John Brown Gordon (1832-1904), later Georgia governor and U.S. Senator, and this copy is extra-illustrated with a unique frontispiece -- tipped to blank leaf facing title page is a fine 5½" X 8" printed sepia-tone head-and-shoulders portrait of Gordon later in life, undated but circa 1900. Interesting and unusual copy!
