A tight and attractive first of this "Tower Books Edition," being a reprint of the 1927 "The House of Edwardes" by co-authors John Palmer and Hilary Saint George Saunders under the "Francis Beeding" pseudonym and clearly occasioned by the release of the 1945 Alfred Hitchcock psychological thriller film starring Gregory Peck and Ingrid Bergman. This sharp copy bears choice autograph additions from two cast members from that film: Tipped near top of front flyleaf is a fine, heavy stock 5" X 3" card signed and inscribed in blue ballpoint "Best wishes / from / Rhonda Fleming" and dated by her "5/25" at upper right. Below this is tipped a 4" X 1 3/4" slip signed large and bold by Paul Harvey in blue ink, dated by him "July 2nd 1930" at upper right. Fleming (born 1923) plays patient Mary Carmichael at the Vermont mental hospital to which Peck is admitted; Harvey (1882-1955) plays Dr. Hanish. Ideal bookmark laid in: Fleming's original signature transmittal envelope, postally cancelled on May 26, 1973. Unusual copy!
