Handsome, tight early printing of this memoir by the Newfoundlander-American explorer (1875-1946) chronicling his many important Arctic exploration expeditions aboard his schooner Effie M. Morrissey. He boldly inscribes and signs the inner flyleaf in black ink: "To: -- / Bob. Malotte: -- / Here's hoping that / You'll be with / me in 1942. / Sincerely, / Bob. Bartlett. / Feb. 26/41." Robert Malott (1926-2018) was a noted Chicago business leader, CEO of FMC Corporation, Republican politico and philanthropist -- and a serious world traveler.
