W.P. Strickland edits this later ("Twentieth Thousand") printing of a popular account of ministering on the tough streets of the rough-and-tumble, churchless early streets of San Francisco. Decent, very serviceable copy. Taylor (1821-1902) was a Methodist Episcopal who moved to San Francisco in 1849, but also did missionary work in Africa and India, authoring a handful of evangelistic titles.
