A tight, attractive first U.S. edition of what is generally considered the bestselling mystery of all time and one of the world's bestselling books. With choice autograph twist: Tipped to the front flyleaf are signatures (each dated) from one of the stars of the first (1945) film version and one of the stars of the third (1974) film version, each fine and each on matching special heavy stock 5" X 3" cards. At top is renowned Australian-British actress JUDITH ANDERSON (1897-1992), who played "Emily Brent" in 1945 -- she signs large and bold in blue fineline, adding "Oct 10 -- 70" at upper right. Below this is Czech-British actor HERBERT LOM (1917-2012), who played physician "Edward Armstrong" in 1974 -- he signs large and bold in blue ballpoint, adding "Sept. 72" at upper right. A unique copy of a surprisingly scarce volume -- and laid in are the two perfect bookmarks: The original transmittal envelopes for these signatures.
