From Manassas to Appomattox: Memoirs of the Civil War in America.

Bloomington: Indiana University Press, [1960]. Hardcover. Edited by James I. Robertson Jr. 8vo. Dark grey cloth with gilt spine lettering. xxix, 692pp. Frontispiece, illustrations. Very good. Sans jacket, and spine lightly sunned. Item #44675

A tight and decent first of this edition, being a facsimile of the 1896 first edition of this Confederate general's autobiography but with intro and notes by noted scholar Robertson. Interestingly, the large heavy stock calling card of Ralph G. Newman (1912-98), founder of Chicago's noted Abraham Lincoln Book Shop, graces an inner flyleaf and neatly tipped to the front flyleaf is the 8-page 8vo glossy pamphlet of the American History Publication Society with its front cover image and review of this Longstreet edition.
