The Boy Pilot of Lake Michigan.

New York: Frank Tousey, Publisher, 1907. Paperback. March 13, 1907 edition (No. 458) of "Pluck and Luck: Complete Stories of Adventure." 4to. Pictorial color wrappers. 30pp, (2pp ads). Good plus. Outer wrappers faintly soiled and mildly edgeworn; inner text pages moderately age toned and a bit delicate as usual. Item #44432

Attractive issue of this adventure weekly. Chromolithograph front wrapper shows a ship's captain with one hand on the wheel gazes with alarm over his ship at a stormy lake, a sailboat perilously close to his bow. Caption below reads: "Leon saw a rakish schooner flit by. He gasped and held his breath. There came a shock and a long-continued grind as the bow of the Sprite scraped more than half the length of the schooner, which then darted out of sight." Fun and colorful front wrapper graphics. A far better than average dime novel (actually, "Price 5 Cents") or "penny dreadful," with text printed in two columns.
