Ornate holiday menu for the luxurious Lorimier House of Dubuque, Iowa, printed on buff stock, with inner recto (page 3) the many-coursed meal that included, among other things, green turtle, black bear steak, quail on toast and English fruit pudding with foamed sauce. Front wrapper features a variety of elaborate gilt typefaces and blind-embossed likeness of this five-story hotel. Leaves 2 and 4 are blank. Built in 1857, the Lorimier House was for many years the largest hotel in the city; in 1917 it was destroyed by fire. Very scarce.
