A superb, bright copy (Volume XVI, Number 19) of the famed weekly begun in 1925. Delightful front wrapper art by Peter Arno (1904-68) shows a clergyman at a microphone-laden podium in the foreground preaching before massive crowds at a national political convention while elderly politicos around him grumble. Cartoon contributors to this issue include Arno, James Thurber, Helen E. Hokinson, Chon Day, and George Price. An outstanding example in exceptional condition.
