The Constitutions of Abraham Lincoln & Jefferson Davis: A Historical and Biographical Study in Contrasts.

New York: Exposition Press, [1959]. Hardcover. 8vo. Light blue cloth with red lettering, pictorial dust jacket. 304pp. Near fine/very good. Jacket mildly edgeworn and a bit rubbed. Item #42673

A tight, attractive first edition of a biased "study" definitely written from the Southern point of view. Interestingly, tipped to front flyleaf is the business card of Ralph G. Newman of Lincoln's New Salem Enterprises. (Newman,1912-98, was founder of Chicago's noted Abraham Lincoln Book Shop.) Some firsts of this title have all white printed jacket, others a partly-blue printed jacket (as here), but no priority determined. An unusual copy of an uncommon title.
