New York: Harper & Brothers Publishers, 1911. Hardcover. Small 8vo. Mustard cloth with green and brown lettering and extensive front board pictorial stamping. 278pp. Tissue-guarded frontispiece, 7 full-page illustrations (as called for). Very good. Almost, but not quite, rates "Near fine," with only the faintest of edgewear. Item #41810
Wonderfully tight and fresh first edition of this quite early title (his 9th book) by the great Western novelist. Superbly sharp and handsome, with front board graphic showing a lion high in a tree snarling at the lasso-twirling cowboy below him. Amusing front pastedown contemporary "Stolen from" ownership signature. Very scarce in true first edition.
