A tight, attractive first paperback edition of the Bradbury short story "The Next in Line," first published in his 1947 collection "Dark Carnival" (Sauk City, WI: Arkham House). Lieberman's many full-page black-and-white illustrations of these Mexican mummies accompany Bradbury's text. Inside the front front wrapper, Lieberman signs quite large in blue fineline, adding above "For William & Barbara Petersen, / Your friend." Lieberman (1926-2008) is best known for his 1974 coffee table volume "Farm Boy" and its sequel "Neighbors"; Petersen (1920-2007) was long-time president of the University of Dubuque.
