This American physician became high profile and influential, even appearing on the front cover of "Time" magazine in 1937, as editor of the powerful "Journal of the American Medical Association" from 1924 to 1950, by exposing medical foibles and quackery in popular layman books such as "The Medical Follies" (1925), "The New Medical Follies" (1927), "Fads and Quackery in Healing" (1932), and by founding "Medical World News" in 1961. On his personal letterhead, Fishbein thanks this notable Chicago businessman (who was involved in arranging an "Illinois Day" at the New York World's Fair) for "your telegram of May 21. I do wish I could be present in New York to participate in the observation of Illinois Day on June 16. Unfortunately I will be in the East only until June 14 after which I simply must return to Chicago...." Signed boldly in full in his typical green fineline. Accompanied by a pair of 6" X 8½" book photographs of Fishbein.
