Best known as co-inventor of the Holt-Dern ore roasting process for extracting silver from low-grade ore, this mining businessman turned Democratic politician served as the sixth governor of Utah (1925-33) and a Franklin Roosevelt's first Secretary of War (1933-36). Item #40784
