KORNER, Friedrich (1921-98).

This German Luftwaffe ace downed 36 enemy aircraft and earned the Knight's Cross; he ranked as the seventh most successful ace in North Africa; he was captured late in the war and imprisoned in Canada until 1947. Modern high-quality black and white print of a WW2-era head-and-shoulders portrait of Korner wearing his Knight's Cross, signed boldly by him later in life in black fineline across the blank lower margin.
