New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, . Hardcover. 8vo. Green paper over boards with gilt spine lettering, dust jacket. xv, 183pp. Near fine/near fine. Item #37605
A tight and nice first edition of these (to cite front jacket panel) "New perspectives on man's use of nature," boldly signed in black fineline by Dubos on the half-title page. Dubos (1901-82) was a French-born American microbiologist and environmentalist awarded the Pulitzer Prize for his 1969 study "So Human an Animal." "The Wooing of Earth" was one of his last books, and is rarely found signed.
