Railroad Book.

Springfield, MA: McLoughlin Bros. n.y. Paperback. 4to. Stiff glazed pictorial wrappers, modern brown cloth tape spine. (12pp, all heavy stock). Full-page full color illustrations on every page, pictorial endpapers. Very good. Bit of edgewear and minor soiling. Item #35729

Tight, decent copy of this undated but circa 1910 oversize booklet "Mounted on Linen," as the front wrapper proclaims. Charming, dramatic full-page images are captioned (in order) "Locomotive in Repair Shop," "The Bridge Cuts Off Many Miles of Travel," "A Modern Electric Train," "Huge Derrick Used in Railroad Construction," "A Short Cut Through the Mountains," "Filling Water Tank at a Tank Station," "Express Train Leaving Terminal at Night," "A Scene in the Yards -- The Turn-Table," "Steep-Grade Engines Hauling Freight," "The 'Through-Limited' in the Far West" (2-page spread) and "Taking Water at High Speed From a Track Trough." Not to be confused with this same publisher's "Railroad Story Book."
