STANS, Maurice H. (1908-98).

This Accounting Hall of Famer (inducted 1960) was a civil servant who served as director of the Bureau of the Budget (1958-61) and as President Nixon's secretary of commerce (1969-72), resigning to head Nixon's re-election campaign (which bore the unfortunate acronym CREEP), in which capacity he got caught up in the Watergate affair.
