The Ghost of Sharaku.

San Francisco: Privately printed, 1951. Paperback. 4to. Stiff yellow wrappers. (8pp). Very good. Outer wrappers (only) a tad age toned and slightly soiled, though internally fine. Item #32370

First edition, limited to 250 copies printed by the noted Grabhorn Press. Ficke (1883-1945) was an American attorney and minor poet, a literary hanger-on remembered for his experiments with modernism and for his relationship with Edna St. Vincent Millay. Judson D. Metzgar introduces this skit, which Ficke penned after visiting an exhibition of Japanese prints at the Gallery of Modern Art in New York in 1940. Rather uncommon.
