The first U.S. senator to serve tim in prison in almost a century was this New Jersey Democrat, who served as representive (1953-57) and senator (1959-82) before being convicted for bribe-taking in the Abscam scandal and resigning his senate seat before being expelled. Color PS, 3½" X 5½", n.p., n.y. [ca. 1970]. Near fine. Picture postcard -- never mailed, with address and message portions blank. Head-and-shoulders portait in suit and tie, signed in blue fineline in a darkish area at lower right: "Best wishes / Harrison A Williams / USS." Contrast fair but not great. Item #32005
