Fiorello La Guardia beat this mayoral candidate in 1941, but after a stint in the U.S. Army (in which he rose to the rank of brigadier general) he was elected New York City's one hundredth mayor in 1946, resigning in 1950 in the face of a police corruption scandal; from 1950 to 1952 he served as U.S. Ambassador to Mexico. Large bold signature in blue ballpoint, heavy stock 5" X 3" card, n.p., n.y. [ca. 1960]. Near fine. Nice example. Item #31706
