This French journalist and politician founded the journal "L'Avenir" in 1830 and from 1833 wrote for "L'Univers"; as a politician, he championed the liberal cause, first in the House of Peers (1835) and later in the Constituent Assembly (1848); he was a noteworthy critic of Napoleon III's policies after the latter's 1851 coup d'etat. Signature, small clipped 2 3/8" X 3/8" slip (tipped to 3" X 1" sheet), n.p., n.y. Very good. Likely snipped from the lower right corner of an ALS on black-border mourning stationery, for the black border is visible on the bottom and right edges. A nice if tiny example. Item #31704
