This Union soldier with the 102nd Ohio Volunteer Infantry was captured by Forrest's troops and spent nine months as prisoner of war before being exchanged; he parlayed his experience into the play "The Drummer Boy of Shiloh," which toured the country to great acclaim in 1868. Item #31677
