BREWSTER, Benjamin Harris (1816-88).

This Philadelphia jurist and politician, a direct descendant of Plymouth Colony pilgrim leader William Brewster, served as Chester Arthur's attorney general from 1881 to 1885. Huge and bold full signature and "Atty. Genl" beneath penned in rich brown ink, 6 3/4" X 2", n.p., n.y. Near fine. Slight bit of age toning at right edge. Undated, but obviously signed during his years as a cabinet member. An especially large and attractive example. Item #31657
