This American businessman founded the groundbreaking "Parents' Magazine" in 1926 and ran it until 1978, popularizing scientific findings to aid home child development; he's also legendary among comic book aficionados for founding "True Comics" in 1941. TNS, 1p, 8½" X 11", New York, NY, 1956 January 11. Addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Bruno J. Gianetti. Good plus. mildly age toned, mainly about the edges; some tape stains on verso bleed through slightly, not affecting text. Cordial "I am more than glad to send you the enclosed photograph of myself for the 'book of Georges' you are making for your young son." Boldly signed in blue fountain pen. Also present is the aforementioned IPS, 8" X 10", n.p., 1956 January. Near fine. Handsome heavy stock matte finish head-and-shoulders portrait of a silver-haired Hecht in pinstriped suit and tie, nicely signed and inscribed by him in a light portion at lower right: "To / George Gianetti / with the best / wishes of / George J. Hecht / Publisher of / Parents' / Magazine / Jan. '56." An unusual pair. Item #31385
